MainStreet Plainfield is committed to bringing you the latest news and updates on the Lockport Streetscape Project, a village-sponsored beautification project designed to provide a more pedestrian safe environment to the downtown. The Engineering/Design team of Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. (CBBEL) and the Lakota Group was recently awarded the contract for the streetscape improvements.
Weekly meetings have begun and will be held at various downtown locations every Friday morning at 8:00 AM— look for the sandwich board outside the current meeting venue. These meetings are hosted by Eric Gallt, Village Traffic Engineer, Jonathan Proulx, Village Staff Planner, Kurt Corrigan, CBBEL, Scott Freres, the Lakota Group, and Mike Ericson, the Lakota Group. All residents, building and business owners are strongly encouraged to attend these meetings to obtain valuable information regarding the project, provide much needed input regarding pivotal decisions such as construction timing, and to obtain answers to any questions you may have. Remember, the Friday meetings are your time to be heard so don’t miss the opportunity!
If you cannot attend the meetings regularly, be sure to visit the Streetscape Website often at www.plainfieldstreetscape.com. All of the plans and information that are presented at the weekly outreach meetings as well as the Streetscape Committee meetings are posted regularly on the site. There's also an option for you to post your comments and questions directly to the project team (see Feedback/Comments option).
