Who is the Economic Restructuring Committee?

The Economic Restructuring Committee strengthens a community’s existing economic assets while expanding and diversifying its economic base.  The Main Street program helps sharpen the competitiveness of existing business owners and recruits compatible new businesses and new economic uses to build a commercial district that responds to today’s consumers’ needs.  Converting unused or underused commercial space into economically productive property also helps boost the profitability of the district.

Plainfield First Savings Card
Plainfield First Savings Cars will be available for purchase starting Thursday, November 1st. The card entitles the holder to the promotional offers from participating businesses. Plainfield First Savings Cards cost $20 each and can be purchased through MainStreet Plainfield and various participating merchants. The cards will be valid for one year until October 2008.

Passport to Savings Day
Passport to Savings Day is a “savings blitz” day on the first Wednesday of each month that began on August 1, 2007. The promotion features 25% off purchases at all participating businesses, restrictions and limits apply. The passport coupon is advertised in the local papers each month including a listing of participating businesses and their specific savings and offers.
