MainStreet Plainfield, Inc. is one of the over 60 communities that make up the Illinois Main Street program, a statewide organization dedicated to revitalizing and promoting historic downtowns. Illinois Main Street is a proven, comprehensive approach to downtown commercial district revitalization, preservation, and economic development adopted in over 1,800 cities and towns across the nation.
MainStreet Plainfield, Inc. is a not for profit volunteer based organization focused on the social and economic well being of Historic Downtown Plainfield, the core of Will County’s oldest community. Our volunteers believe in the value of a healthy and successful downtown, the preservation and revitalization of historic commercial buildings, and capitalizing on the strength of our downtown as the center of our community. MainStreet provides a voice for the downtown and a bridge between the downtown and the rest of the Plainfield community.

Driven by dedicated and cooperative efforts of our entire civic, business, and volunteer community, MainStreet Plainfield, Inc. is a comprehensive revitalization program based on initiatives in Design, Economic Restructuring, Organization, and Promotion.
